Donald M. Baker of Heffley Creek, BC. Don Baker was born in Saskatchewan in 1935 and grew up in Vancouver BC. He pursued his career as a heavy duty mechanic, and raised his family in Surrey BC for many years. Don semi-retired in 1992 and moved to Knouff Lake. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and watching them through their growing up years. Don was reunited with his brothers and sisters in 1997 at his family reunion hosted by his 2 daughters Debra Booth and Lenora Doering. Don had a very special companion, his dog “Buck” and they shared every adventure together. Don loved the outdoors and could often been seen splitting wood, cutting lawns or tending to peoples’ needs at Knouff Lake Resort. Don also liked to travel with his brother and sister-in-law, Red & Emily Baker to Mexico and to Las Vegas. He also made road trips to Edmonton & Washington to visit family. Don will be very deeply missed by his family and friends.
Don is survived by his daughter Lenora Doering (Wilf), grandson Travis Doering, granddaughter Chelsea Doering, son-in-Law John Booth, his brothers Jim Baker (Louis) and Keith Baker (Ruby), his sister Ruth Doblanko (Peter) and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John & May Baker, his wife Mary Baker, daughter Debra Booth, brothers Ray Baker, Walter “Red” Baker, and by his sister, Doris Baker.Print This Obituary & Condolences
