(Aug 29, 1932 – Feb 1, 2015) – Barbara Dunlop passed away on February 1 2015 in Ponderosa Lodge after a lengthy illness with kidney disease. Born in Pouce Coupe B.C. on August 29 1932. Barbara is survived by daughter Elizabeth (Neil) of Lillooet B.C., daughter Eleanor of Lillooet B.C., son Mick of Dundurn Sask., daughter-in-law Lynda of Barriere and brother Wally of Barriere B.C., and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband George and her sons Donald and Kenneth, her brothers Barney, Fred, Reggie, Kelly and Donald, sisters Edith and Juanita, and grandson Jonathon.
Barbara did her education in a little school house and in her adult life as a wife, homemaker and mother to her five children. She spent the last 35 years in Barriere B.C. and before that in Heffley Creek B.C. She also lived in Barkerville as a young child. Barbara had lots of stories about her childhood and life that we all loved hearing over and over again.
Barbara loved flowers and her gardening. She would always be out tending her flowers. She enjoyed knitting, walking, reading, playing scrabble, yatzee and watching her game shows on T.V. She absolutely loved Chinese food. Barbara loved her road trips with anyone who would take her. She loved animals which she had her whole life. She loved telling jokes and hearing jokes. Barbara loved sitting on the bench in front of Pioneer Residence visiting with everyone that went by. She also loved when people would stop to visit her at home. She always had a cup of tea for her company. She had a lot of old and new friends.
She will be sadly missed by many family and friends. At request of family there will be no service but in the spring there will be an informal gathering up at Heffley Lake.Print This Obituary & Condolences
