Gordon Royce Siemens 1947 – 2021

In Memorial
Siemens photo1

July 30, 1947 to December 30, 2021

With profound sadness and immense love, we said goodbye to our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend, Gordon Royce Siemens, on December 30, 2021.  He passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep, and while he had to leave us, he is now with his mom and dad, his nephews Otis and Tyler, his brother in-law Al, his dear friends that left too soon and his beloved pets. We know they all met him with open arms.

Born in Abbotsford, BC on July 30, 1947 to his late parents, Abraham (Jim) and Olga Siemens, Gord spent the last thirty years with his wife and life-partner Natalie Negreiff in Louis Creek, BC. He was a loving, gentle-hearted man, an incredible artist, and a lover of nature. He spent his earlier years as a very talented builder and craftsman, and many recent days in his dining room chair visiting with family and friends and watching the birds at the feeder, and the deer that visited often.

Gord is survived by his wife Natalie, his children Tara (Doug) and Jason (Macy), his siblings Dennis Siemens (Shirley), Judy Siemens and Marilyn Holland (David), his grandchildren Porter, Keanna and Gauge, Natalie’s family that loved him as their own after 40 years, and the many other family members and friends that he touched with his gentle, open-heart. We all miss him so very much.

A memorial will be held in 2022 when we can hug each other and celebrate the amazing man Gord was.

First I would like to say how deeply sad I am to hear of the passing of Gord. He was one of my best friends EVER. He was always so much fun to be around and our times together is something that I will always cherish. From his house to my house, from Kamloops to Kelowna, from work to play, from bar to bar, from Likely to Seymour Arm , there was never a dull moment. We may have been drunk, we may have been high, we may have been hungover, but for sure we enjoyed our company. We spent years together forming our friendship and love for each other. I noticed there were many mornings when Gord would be standing at the back door, arms somewhat folded, with cigarette in hand, silently looking out the window, just slightly rocking back and forth, where he was lost in his own thoughts. A man of deep concerns. Gord could imagine things to build with his mind’s eye but had the ability to make those things a reality with his God given talent which made him the very fine artisan and craftsman that he was. A talent only afforded the very few. Gord was a naturalist who loved the outdoors and early on gained a worldy knowledge by working and living that very simple life. A life he returned to when he moved to Louis Creek with Nat. He was a man of many talents. I left Kamloops in 1986 most by need and little by want but returned home for holidays most every year. It was during these times when I would visit with Gord and Nat to rekindle our friendship. We would catch up on our daily lives and reminisce about old times stirring up memories of our many antics. One of my fondest memories of Gord was his upbringing in wanting to share and share he did. On most Sundays was Gord’s time to show his kindness with many of his friends where he would make a roast beef dinner, where we all learnt what a great cook he was. We would all partake in a family meal along with a brew or few. He was the glue that bound us together. He will be terribly missed by his children, whom he spoke so proudly of, along with his family and friends. Praying that Nat can be strong during this difficult time. Rest in peace Buddy and sorry to say that Covid kept us apart these last couple of years. You will be forever in my thoughts. Your friend Jimmy

I only knew Gord for a short amount of time but enjoyed his sense of humor, impish smile and his generous heart . He will be missed by all that had the opportunity to know him.
