December 14, 1944 – March 25, 2023
At age 78, Irene Blake AKA Tootsie passed away peacefully, while surrounded by immediate family, on March 25, 2023. She will be deeply missed by her children Troy Winsor (Jacki), Parris Winsor (Darren), and Nicole O’Donnell (Mike); grandchildren Brittany Martin (Simon), Jordan Kushner (Kyle), Bryce Tippe, Drew Winsor, Taylor Winsor, and Sienna O’Donnell; great grandchildren, Kaleb Perrault, Jude Martin, Nolan Martin, Perry Martin, Dawson Kushner, and Declan Kushner as well as by her siblings Rita Kowalchuk, Ronnie LePage, Aline LePage-Chapman. Family that went before Irene: her parents Joseph and Jean LePage, father in-law Al Gilchuk her brother Fred LePage, sister June Herdman, and her dog Bandit.
Irene was a talented hairdresser and won many awards in her youth, she was creative, free spirited, and young at heart. She loved playing games and dancing to good music. Irene enjoyed people, and spending time with her family. She made it a priority to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she could connect with children at their level, a true gift. She thrived in her garden; enjoyed cooking, especially her famous ham glaze recipe, and getting in the car for a spontaneous road trip with good tunes to accompany the ride.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the care Irene received through the Kamloops Hospice House.
