In Memorial

Janell Hauzeneder
December 12, 1975 – February 24, 2019

Janell Hauzeneder passed away suddenly at the age of 43 on Feb 24, 2019. Born in Kamloops, BC, Janell also lived and worked in Squamish for several years before returning to her home town. For most of her life she worked as a hair-stylist but didn’t consider it her true vocation. Recently, she was so excited to have obtained her education for medical device reprocessing and to start work at Royal Inland Hospital. Her passion was to rock climb and spend time outdoors especially if it was with dogs! Janell had many circles of friends who remember her for her spunky sense of adventure and kindness. She truly had a heart and soul for recognizing the pain in others and reaching out to those in need. Janell was predeceased by her grandparents Franz and Elizabeth Hauzeneder, Glen and Jean Lucey, her Nan, Jocelyn Richardson, and her Aunt, Elizabeth Hauzeneder. Janell was also extremely close with her family and is survived by her father and step-mother, Franz and Lynne Hauzeneder, her mother Anne Goodall, her three sisters Jean Cousin, Jennifer, and Laura Hauzeneder, and her niece Jaiden Cousin.

Her family is devastated to have lost her but know that her love will continue to shine within everyone she knew.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 22nd at the Free Methodist Church (975 Windbreak St) at 2pm. Please, in lieu of flowers, consider donating to the SPCA https://champions.spca.bc.ca/participant/2259312/2160/

Condolence from Tasha B. (Nee Kennedy) on March 8th, 2019 11:11 pm

I just don’t understand. My heart hurts. Each time Janell and I ran into each other we both enthusiastically insisted we must catch up over coffee but we just never could get our schedules to align. You think you have time. I deeply regret not seizing any available moment to have made that coffee and subsequent coffees happen. Franz, Lynne, Jean, Anne and the rest of her family…I’m so incredibly sorry. She was too young. Too special. 🙁 . – Tasha (friend and past coworker of Vincent & Gia’s).

Condolence from Colleen, Katrina,Bella and Bentley on March 9th, 2019 3:54 pm

Katrina and I are absolutely shocked and devastated at Janell’s passing. She was the best dog sitter and our pups loved her dearly. We all send our thoughts and hugs to the family. We are going to miss her.

It is hard to realize Janell has passed away. Our sincere condolences to her parents, sisters and all of her immediate and extended family. She was a very sweet kind soul and will be remembered fondly. We trust the love and memories you shared will transcend through the pain you now feel. God Bless.

Condolence from Wendy Ross on March 12th, 2019 9:44 pm

Janell was a welcome addition to our Medical Device Processing Department. She learned quickly and moved on to the O.R. as a perioperative aide, where they really cared for her. I remember when someone wrote on the whiteboard, praising Janell. I wasn’t surprised, but I was very touched. And she deserved that praise. We miss you, sweet Janell. ❤️

I wish our department could be at her memorial, but unfortunately it takes place when we are either not finished work or just beginning. But she will be in our thoughts and prayers. We love you, Janell! Prayers to your family. ❤️

Condolence from Nicole und Oliver on March 21st, 2019 4:46 am

Our family is so sorry to just learn the news of Janelles passing. She was our hairdresser for many years and we considered her our friend. We were thrilled to re-connect a couple years ago when she came back to Kamloops and we enjoyed a fun night with her at a summer concert at Sun Peaks. She was so excited about her new training and career! She recognized our older son at the climbing gym over the winter and they had some good chats. We are heartbroken that we won’t see her again. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends. She was a special girl- one of a kind!
