I was both shocked and saddened to out of no where, compelled to look at Kamloops obituaries last night and see Rollie’s picture. Doesn’t seem like that long ago I could smell his amazing cooking and hear his infectious laugh while he clapped his hands. He was so handy too all the inventions he made long before ebay! Lots of great memories. My thoughts and heart are with you all. He’s been missed for a long time

My first supervisor back in 1981 was Rollie. He was a great leader. I went to “A” crew shift operations and worked with Rollie there for a few years. My condolences to his family, in particular Ron Denis whom I knew quite well.

I was very saddened to hear of Rollie’s passing !!! I first met Rollie in the early 1980’s when I started at Lornex and Rollie was one of my foremen. He became both a friend and a mentor to me and I will always appreciate the knowledge he passed on to me which led to me becoming a foreman when Lornex merged with Bethlehem and Highmont and became Highland Valley Copper. Those we’re the fun years before the blizzard landed on Rollie’s head, and mine !!! Back then he was the black haired, mustachioed Mexican bandido who made the ladies hearts flutter, and the competition shudder, and could he ever dance to country music !!! I ran into Rollie several times after he retired and we shared a few stories and had lots of laughs together. I am sorry to have to miss Rollie’s celebration because of a commitment to visit our grandkids in Calgary that weekend !!! Instead I am sending big hugs to Jacquie and Ron, the two Denis that I know, and tell them that they will be in my thoughts !!! To my old friend Rollie I say, safe travels and Rest In Peace !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
