(Apr 2, 1930 – Jan 7, 2015) – Brian Knowles Lodge was born in Kelowna, British Columbia on April 2, 1930 to William and Margery Lodge. He lived in Barriere, B.C. for 48 years and passed away peacefully in Kamloops, B.C. on January 7, 2014.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marion, his son Dean (Cathy) from Omaha, Nebraska, daughter Louise from Cairo, Egypt, granddaughter Alexa, and Molly his beloved puppy. Honourable mention to the adopted daughters Gwen, Stacey and Melody.
He was predeceased by his parents Margery and William of Winfield, B.C., in-laws Aline and Lawrence of Winfield, B.C. and brother David “Spud” of Kelowna, B.C. Brian worked for the Canadian Air Force (1950’s), as well as B.C. Forestry (1960 – 1988), Gilbert Smith (1988-1996) and happily retired in 1996. He was also an Industrial First Aid Instructor and Barriere Minor Softball League Coach. Brian belonged to many groups: Royal Canadian Legion 40+ years, Boy Scout Leader, lifetime member of Barriere Curling Club and Chinook Cove Golf Club. If you wanted to know about a lake or an area in the North Thompson Pop had a map for it. He hunted, fished, hiked and logged this area for over 50 years. During his 20 years of retirement he and Marion kept a well manicured yard and an abundant garden. It would be common to see him on his hands and knees clipping the grass; he had it down to an art. He loved the outdoors, had a contagious smile and was known for his easygoing, friendly personality. On behalf of the family we would like to thank Overlander staff at Blueberry Lane and North Thompson Funeral Services for their care and compassion given to Brian.Print This Obituary & Condolences
