ALLAN PITTILLO 6 March 1945 Glasgow, Scotland – 8 February 2016 Kamloops British Columbia. Allan’s last residence was in Valemount, British Columbia, where he first gained his footing in Canada, and where he returned in the spring of 2015 to retire.
Allan is survived by his loving step daughter “Princess” Elizabeth, of Edmonton Alberta. He leaves to grieve his many friends in Alberta and British Columbia. Allan is preceded by his mother Anne and step father Ross.
Allan grew up in Galashiels, the central Borders region of Scotland, and immigrated to Canada in the early 1970s. He loved to travel and he loved sports, especially soccer. He was proud of his Scottish heritage. Ever passionate and compassionate, Allan did not judge by colour or creed. His steadfast motto was borrowed from the Scottish poet Robbie Burns, “A man’s a man for all that.”
By request there will be no service. When conditions allow his ashes will be scattered to the wind from the summit of Canoe Mountain, near Valemount, BC. A celebration of life will follow. Donations in Allan’s memory to the Kamloops Hospice Society, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, BC, V2E 2S9, www.kamloopshospice.com, would be appreciated.Print This Obituary & Condolences
