The family of Robert Smith sadly announce his passing on May 9, 2023 with his family by his side.
He is survived by his best friend and wife, Muriel, of 61 years, son Kelvin Smith, daughter Cheryl (Dale) Boettger, grandchildren: Amanda, Stephen (Kacey), Shaun (Jo), Jenn (AJ), and 9 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his grandson Kyle Smith, sisters Janet Piva and Joan Mobley, and parents Jack and Tina Smith.
Bob was born in Penticton, B.C, later moving to Kamloops where he eventually met and married Muriel in 1961. While in Kamloops, Kelvin and Cheryl were born, then in 1971, Bob and Muriel moved their family to Clearwater where Bob was a self employed Contractor, with his backhoe and dump truck, while he and Muriel also built and managed a mobile home park.
Bob and Muriel retired in 1995, moving back to Kamloops to enjoy many years of travelling and camping with family and friends.
Bob was a very special man, loved his family and friends immensely, always there with a helping hand, before even being asked. Bob thrived socially, taking the time to have a conversation with anyone willing to lend an ear. Bob will be remembered for these qualities and many more, but especially his one of a kind laugh, sense of humour and love for his family and friends. Bob will be greatly missed and remembered with love.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the home of Kelvin Smith on Saturday, June 24 between 1-4pm at 857 Lolo Street in Kamloops, B.C.
Offer Condolence for the family of Robert Jack (Bob) Smith 1939 – 2023

Walter Reimer
Walt and I will always remember Bob for his hearty laugh and welcoming smile whenever we saw him and Muriel. He loved a good joke and he loved dancing, both square and regular dancing, especially with his best friend and mate Muriel. We will miss you, Bob. You will always be remembered for your friendliness and kindness.
