May 3, 1939 – August 27, 2021

Robert William Strachan passed away at age 82 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan and moved to British Columbia in 1969. Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret, son Randal, daughters Shelly and Lisa and two grandsons Chris and Nicholas (Kayla), sisters Betty, May (Terry), sister-in-law Barbara and brother-in-law John (Linda) Sharp.

He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Doris Strachan and brother John Edward. Robert will be greatly missed by many extended family and friends.

Robert was a good farmer even at an early age. He looked after the family farm when his father became ill. He drove school bus for many years and worked as a janitor in the schools. Long will he be thought of as Uncle Robert.

His passions included his family, hunting, fishing, golf, curling and carpet bowling.

Fondly remembered as being kind, giving, gentle and loving. Robert had the ability to make friends wherever he went. He was a faithful member of the Church of St. Paul.

Thank you to all who have supported us through this sad journey.

The man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much.

Bob was my bus driver for many years. It was my favourite part of the bus ride when at Little Fort I would move up to the seat behind him and we’d talk about life. Our chats were a daily event for several years until I graduated in ’96.

Robert was friend dear to my heart. I had the pleasure of working with him at Barriere Ridge in the late 90’s. His calm manner and genuine smile always put a grin on my face. Rest well, dear friend. ❤
