STEPHEN “Rob” LATCHFORD

It’s with peaceful mourning that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Stephen Robert Nicolas Eldon Latchford on May 24, 2020 to his short 6-month battle of a rare fast growing cancer. Stephen was born in Ajax, Ontario on September 23, 1984 to parents Stephen Latchford and Kristina Stevens.

In the last 12 years, he had made his home in Kamloops, BC where Stephen started a family of his own. He was known for his love of Jesus, his love of his wife, children, and his dog. He loved our Lord, and we are honoured and thankful to see him through his final victory safe in the arms of Jesus.

He leaves behind his wife Megan, and children Caidance, Aubree, Jordan, Angelica Latchford, and his bonus children, Bryan and Izabell Johnson, Gabriel, Logan and Seth Newbury. He was predeceased by his stepfather Pat Moan, his nana Clair Anne Connolly, as well as Kristina Wesley and their unborn child.  He is survived by his father Stephen, his mother Kristina (Doug), brothers Adam (Courtney) Trevor, Sister Brittney (John), and numerous extended family members.

Stephen was loved by many. He took pride in all his relationships, was passionate about traveling, interacting with all who were around him, and spreading his love and light onto others through his playful spirit. Steve impacted the lives of all he connected with and was known for reaching out in kindness to all near and far; he was a hard worker providing for his family, and loyal as his dog, Diesel, was to him (boy, he misses you).

Stephen slipped away peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by the ones he loved. He was a child of God, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. In lieu of flowers donations to the Rainbow Centre (info@therainbowcentre.ca) and Valleyview Bible Church (info@valleyviewchurch.ca) are appreciated. A celebration of life TBD.

Stephen fought the good fight of faith with the sudden diagnosis, never giving up hope! He would always say,

“Don’t count the days, Make the days count.”

My heart aches for the family as Megan is like a sister to me and Stephen was like a brother to me. They both helped shine their light my way in my times of darkness.
