
Roy Unterschultz was born in Fairview, Alberta, on October 9, 1934. He moved to Clearwater when he was 15 years old and, at the age of 22, married Joan Donnelly in the United Church in Clearwater on June 7, 1957. Joan passed away in Clearwater in 2011. Roy is survived by three children: Teresa, Dean and Wilna; grandchildren Meagan, Brandon, Grant and Alisha; great grandchildren Calleigh-Anna, Hailey and Hanna.
Roy lived in Vavenby, BC, for many years. He built the Tum Tum Gateway park. He was also involved in the building of foundations of mills in the North Thompson valley and he was a millwright. Roy owned and operated three logging trucks and had a logging accident in 1963.
Roy loved to restore old Model T cars. He enjoyed gardening and loved giving to the community. Roy volunteered with the Vavenby Improvement Water District and the TNRD. In later years, Roy enjoyed attending the music night each week at the Blue Loon Restaurant in Clearwater.
