It is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of Bill McLean at Kelowna General Hospital.
Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years Fran McLean and his daughter Christine , grandsons Kyle and Trevor, brother Bruce, his cousin Arlene Minosky as well as many other cousins.
He also leaves behind Fran’s brothers and sister, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews in Manitoba and special friends Ryan ,Tarryl, Neil and Lucas Hartling. Bill was predeceased by his two sons Derek and Glenn and his parents Bill and Mary McLean.
Bill was born in Blairmore, Alberta and his family moved to Kamloops when he was a young boy. Bill had a close relationship with his Aunts and Uncles growing up.
Bill spent his entire career with the Ministry of Highways and shared many stories of his work travels across the province. Bill played an important role in the introduction of seal coating across BC.
Bill and Fran moved to Chase from the coast in 2007 and have both enjoyed their small town life. Bill enjoyed camping boating and golfing and was a member of the Chase Legion .
Special thanks to Kelowna General and Kelowna Cancer Clinic for their exceptional care and the compassion shown towards both Bill and Fran. Thanks also to the caring staff at Chase Clinic.
